ThaFormula.com - First off, what's the deal with the new album?

Evidence - It's called Expansion Team and its uh, we kind of look at it as our first major release even though it's our second record. Just because our first album was created independently and then you know we got signed put some touches on it and put it out as is basically. So this record we started fresh, started over, so it's like our first joint. It's basically following the same Dilated format. Were not really um following what's happening or listening to what's popular to base our record on that sound. So we basically just been on our own mission and that's basically where were at. Their's still alot of solo joints from myself and Iriscience, um, alot of tag team rhymin this time and um alot of complete thoughts you know from begining to end you know we practiced alot of song writing this time, not just havin hot lyrics but tryin to complete make round songs. This record DJ Babu will be displaying his production skills you know,  just lettin everybody know that he's got some top notch shit cummin out. You know we also stepped outside the camp, so their's myself, Joey Chavez, Alchemist of course and Babu. And besides that you know we reached out to Premier, and uh Beatminerz and JuJu from the Beatnuts, so you know their's alot of heat this time around.

ThaFormula.com - How was it hookin up with Premier?

Evidence - It was real cause you know cummin up most people my age were pretty much heavy fans of Premier. So to sit in a room with him and you know we get to rhyme and you know he get's to critique it and produce it. That shit was a real experience, it wasn't like he mailed us a beat, we kicked what we kicked, send it back and then hope for the best. We actually got to sit down for a week with him you know and just go through the whole experience so you know it's probably one of the best experiences in hip hop I've had yet.

ThaFormula.com - So he actually chilled with you guys and with through  the whole process?

Evidence - Yeah, him and Babu cut together they go back and forth and shit and you know that's one of the first times he's ever let anybody really rip on one of his tracks you know as far as scratching..

ThaFormula.com - Damn that sounds like a dope track. MC wise who's the guest MC's?

Evidence -We got Black Thought from the Roots which is crazy cause he's one of the sharpest in the game, that was real! you know he came to the crib and just vibed out. We recorded the new album at  a spot we rented you know it was like a home environment. We just chilled and did vocals in the bathroom and shit. So it's like he came through caught a vibe and we did a song.   

ThaFormula.com - How far along are you guys on the new album?

Evidence - Yeah, we got twelve songs man! We got twelve songs so we got another couple weeks of studio and that's it. The new single is about to drop right now.  It's called "Worst come to Worst" and it's produced by Alchemist. It's crazy, it's like takin the Dilated sound to a whole new level, it's some true shit everybody I think will feel. Then the B-side is called "Target Practice" and that's some straight up Dilated hip hop shit.

ThaFormula.com - So the singles droppin when?

Evidence - Beginning of August.

ThaFormula.com - And when you lookin for the album to drop?

Evidence - September 25th LOCKED!!!!

ThaFormula.com - Yeah,Yeah, sounds dope. Alright you know what I'm going to ask you next. The main question that everybody talks about. I mean why the BEEF MAN?

Evidence - Um, Well it's because humans wanted to eat cows really. I mean you go to India they don't do that shit.

ThaFormula.com - HA! HA! Yeah man I hear you on that one ( I got say he got me on that one)?

Evidence -Oh! you mean the beef with Eminem. Ha! Ha!

ThaFormula.com - What's your opinion on this battle?

Evidence - I mean battling is just something that I've done locally commin up. It's somethin!  I never thought that I would be on a battle on a record in my life.  The whole thing came up because Everlast dissed Eminem on our record and he didn't just say or call his name out. Their was alot of people in the studio session when he did the record. We all heard what he's talkin about, but it didn't quite click. So Everlast left and people started tellin me, Yo! Yo! Yo! he's dissin Eminem on your record and we listened to it and figured it all out you know but it wasn't between me and him you know what I'm sayin, their's alot of people on that song

ThaFormula.com - So you guys didn't know anything about it?

Evidence - I mean we knew about it after we figured it out, but just not while it was happenin.

ThaFormula.com - But you guys had nothin to do with it?

Evidence - Their was Planet Asia in the studio, Phil Da Agony, everyone that was on that song and other people. None of us knew about it. Nobody! I mean it wasn't just me and Everlast high fivin. You know what im sayin! In fact he came in after everyone did their shit. He came in listened to his space, dropped his thing and bounced, like he did it in one take. We just thanked him for blessin us and he bounced. So whatever,  that was between them and that's what happened. Then we put it out and they went back and forth and they left me out of it. And that's what I thought, I mean my whole group us Dilated had nuthin to do with it on Eminem's return record and I guess Everlast said our name on his return record and somewhere in there, as it's been told to me by other people, that something I said in an Interview somewhere upset Eminem and he came back on me and calling me out personally, you know. I've seen him once in my life, never hung out, I don't know anything about him except the shit I heard on the road (He laughs).  And that was it, that was outta self defense straight up, I called out, hit em back hard and that was what it was.

ThaFormula.com - So you heard the new one he has then?

Evidence -Oh. "Girls" Yeah.

ThaFormula.com - What you think?

Evidence - It took me like five times to find our diss (laughs again) 

ThaFormula.com - That's funny, I kinda saw that too?

Evidence - Whatever, he wasn't  supposed to diss us again. It was supposed to be left at what I did and it's just whatever man, I'm over it.

ThaFormula.com - So their won't be a part two then.

Evidence - I don't know, I mean it's been written for a long time.

ThaFormula.com - Because people on the street are feenin for it. 

Evidence - I got it. I mean I got it!! but whatever man, I mean at the end of the day I like Eminem's music. This whole shit is some hip hop shit. It ain't gonna go past that. It's DONE!! YOU KNOW WHAT I'M SAYIN. I talked to D-12 and squashed it. I thought it was supposed to be over. Now this shit is happenin. Whatever!  Right now we got our own agenda and I'm just focusing on my career. That shit is OVER!!
