ThaFormula.com - Let's get started by givin the heads out there that ain't knowin a little info on Mr. Eon of The High & Mighty.

Mr. Eon - Basically, me and Mighty MI have been friends for about 20 years and we always had a love for hip hop.  We kinda had various different little groups going back to like 86 when we did a talent show and stuff like that.  We both went to college up in Boston University then moved to N.Y.  and we started puttin out shit like The High & Mighty Project, Smut Peddlers, Eastern Conference, various singles, and stuff like that.

ThaFormula.com - Have you been out to L.A. recently?

Mr. Eon - Yeah, I was their a couple of weeks ago doin this video for this girl who's video I was in.

ThaFormula.com - How you like it out here in L.A.?

Mr. Eon - I really like it out there.  I used to have this girl I used to go out with who lived out there and I got some family out there.  I come out there a couple of times a year definitely.  It's a whole different vibe.  It's kinda like a big city suburbs just the way you have to drive everywhere. It's ill and I like the weather.  It's a good thing to get out of here for a while.

ThaFormula.com - How is the underground vibe different?

Mr. Eon - Well, I think that in L.A.'s own artists like Jurassic and Dilated just so much love from L.A.  In New York, just cause your from New York, you don't necessarily get New York love.  It's like everyone in the history of hip hop has been from New York so it's not like a big deal to be from New York, but L.A. seems to really support their own.

ThaFormula.com - It seems like you guys have a pretty hardcore following.

Mr. Eon - Yeah,  I think so.  I think since we established ourselves before and with Rawkus.  And also seeing the direction Rawkus is going.  I think people look at us like kinda pickin up where Rawkus left off in terms of underground shit.

ThaFormula.com - I was checkin out your site and noticed you have alot of hardcore fans.

Mr. Eon - Yeah we do and I think all the internet fans are pretty fucken crazy.  Most of them are real cool, but you have some that will come on your site and diss you and shit.  Why even do that.  Why not just come up to my show and just come up to me and diss me.

ThaFormula.com - What's the difference when recording a High & Mighty album and a Smut Peddlers album?

Mr. Eon - Well, if you look at the Smut Peddlers album, it's definitely a darker dirtier kind of reflection of that side of us.

ThaFormula.com - Do you think Eminem has helped or hurt white Mc's?

Mr. Eon - I think on a grand or commercial level he definitely did cause you know Bubba Sparxx would have never teamed up with Timbaland if that didn't happened.  But for what I'm doin, he didn't really do alot.  For everything in general, I think he's really done alot.

ThaFormula.com - Do you ever get people that look at you and say "Oh, another Eminem"?

Mr. Eon - Maybe by someone who doesn't really know about hip hop or looks at more commercial shit.  Then they would probably say that he definitely had a big influence on us.

ThaFormula.com - Have you ever caught anyone bootleggin your shit?

Mr. Eon - Nah, not really.  One time a distributor bootlegged some shit of ours, but not really.

ThaFormula.com - Who are the owners of Eastern Conference?.

Mr. Eon - Me and Mighty MI

ThaFormula.com - So how are you livin right now?  Has Eastern Conference been good to you?

Mr. Eon - Yeah.  I mean this is pretty much all I do.  I mean I don't have a crazy crib or anything.

ThaFormula.com - How hard is it to run a label?

Mr. Eon - Well it's hard when you just deal with two people cause we deal with literally every aspect of everything.  From legal shit, preparing videocassettes to send out, recording, mailing out, and all that shit.  Like Rawkus is similar to us, but on a grander scale.  They have like 100 employees and me and Milo have no employees.  So you know we do pretty much 90% of the legwork ourselves.

ThaFormula.com - Do you and Milo ever see yourselves just handling the label and staying behind the scenes?

Mr. Eon - I mean definitely at some point that will happen.  I'm just trying to do it for as long as I can, but I'm not trying to be 35 and rhymin. I'm just tryin to do this for as long as I can.

ThaFormula.com - No doubt!
