– You’re one of the main people that decided on bringing back
“Unity,” what made you bring this together?
Chace
Infinite - Cause I grew up in Los Angeles and when I was growing up we
had a lot of venues that was doing shit. Right now we ain't got
none, so I was like fuck it. No disrespect but there is shit out
here besides Snoop Dogg. The timing was just right now.
About 2 or 3 years ago DJ Muggs, Khalil and myself formed a company
together called Angeles Records. Us just being Soul Assassins
affiliated artists, Muggs was really supportive. He said if you
guys need extra help financially to back it and get it started, I got
y'all. Really that’s what kind of what made us kick it in gear
and do it. Bigga B was my cousin and he was just an influential
cat on every level and I'm just trying to follow in his footsteps and
continue the legacy. Hopefully we will be able to make this a
muthafuckin’ festival. I see a lot of people that Bigga B
helped out having a lot for success with their festivals like Chang
(Rock the Bells). And I seen a lot of those festivals don't hire
Self Scientific or Sick Symphonies and others in L.A. and you see the
kind of power we got right now. So our goal is to make this a
festival and in 6 months there is going to be 10,000 muthafuckas here
supporting “Unity” and getting this black and brown shit together
in L.A. Because we’ve got a deeper purpose in this shit,
we’re trying to bring muthafuckas together.

- Is the current lack of sales affecting smaller labels like Angeles
as well man?
Chace
Infinite - Hell yeah, for sure. It affects everybody because we
sell records. The bottom line is that is our business. I
don’t sell dope, I sell records. I run a record label.
So hell yeah that shit affects us because everybody's records ain’t
selling like they used to. We just have to readjust and get to
the people who want to download the shit before they download it.

- How do think a new artist coming out independently must go about
making his money in 2006?
Chace
Infinite - Build your brand, merchandise and tour. You can make
10,000 dollars a month selling shirts believe me.
ThaFormula.com
- So what's the deal with the Self Scientific and Sick Symphonies
collabo album?
Chace
Infinite - That's gonna be a monumental album for L.A. We’re
gonna do that shit right. Black & Brown shit for real
because I grew up in Los Angeles with a lot of Latino brothers and
sisters so I fully understand the aspects of the culture and Sick
Symphonies grew up with a lot of brothers and in dealing with this
music they understand the aspects of the Black culture which is
actually one in the same ‘cause were actually all living under the
umbrella of Hip-Hop. We’re gonna show muthafuckas really what
it is about, some real lyricism and a real point to this shit.
We’re gonna really bring both worlds together and create an army in
L.A.
ThaFormula.com
- When are you guys looking at dropping that?
Chace
Infinite - Probably like May or June of next year.
ThaFormula.com
- As far as Self Scientific goes, are you happy with the progress of
your group?
Chace
Infinite - I'm happy with the progress of the group for sure. I
think we are at our best creatively. Of course we can always
sell more records, but that will come in time. Or maybe we might
be one of those groups that people will realize after we’re gone how
dope we were. On the real shit, I don't do this shit for money.
I do other shit for money.
